Aligned is free during the soft landing period. There is no card to enter, no per-client fee, and no per-submission charge. While HMRC are not penalising late quarterly updates in year one, we are not charging you to file them.

Why is it free?
MTD for Income Tax is a legal requirement from April 2026, but HMRC's soft landing period means no penalty points for late quarterly updates in the first twelve months. Charging for software people are legally required to use, while HMRC itself is not penalising, would be off-key. While HMRC are not charging, neither are we.
Will it stay free?
We may introduce additional paid tiers after the soft landing period. Any paid features will always be optional, and we'll give a minimum of 6 months' notice of what, if any, charges there will be for quarterly returns for tax year 2027-28.
