What this is

The sign-up page is where you create your Aligned account. Whether you are an accountant managing clients or an individual filing your own returns, the process starts the same way - you choose your account type first, then fill in your details.

What you see on screen

When you visit the sign-up page, you first see an account type selection screen. This asks you to choose between two options:

• Individual - for people filing their own tax returns
• Tax Agent - for accountants, bookkeepers, or tax practices managing returns on behalf of clients

Once you select your account type, the registration form appears with the following fields:

• Email address - this becomes your login username
• Password - must meet the minimum security requirements
• Confirm password - re-enter your password to confirm

There is also a link to the login page if you already have an account.

How to sign up

1. Go to aligned.tax/signup
2. Choose your account type - Individual or Tax Agent
3. Enter your email address - use an email you check regularly, as you will need to verify it
4. Choose a password - make it strong and unique
5. Confirm your password by entering it again
6. Click Sign Up
7. Check your inbox for a verification email from Aligned
8. Click the link in the email to verify your account

Things to know

• Email verification is required. You cannot use the app until you have clicked the verification link in your email. If you do not see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
• One account per email. Each email address can only be used for one Aligned account.
• Password security. Choose a password that is at least 8 characters long. A mix of letters, numbers, and symbols is recommended.
• Your email cannot be changed later without contacting support, so make sure you use the right one.

FAQ

I did not receive the verification email. What should I do?

Check your spam or junk folder first. If you still cannot find it, try signing up again with the same email address - the system will resend the verification link. Make sure you are checking the correct inbox.

Can I sign up with a Google or social media account?

Currently, Aligned only supports email and password sign-up. Social login may be added in future.
